Multiple Institutes turn Deemed Universities in Bangalore

As many as 20 Institutions have applied for Deemed University status to the State Department of Higher Education, Karnataka. Among the 20 Institutes only 3 institutions have received the status as Deemed Universities in Bangalore, in 2014, namely PES Institute, Reva University and CMR Institute. The remaining 17 institutions are awaiting to get the private university tag, as they are yet to furnish the necessary documents regarding land and endowment funds, to the State Department. Each institution needs to provide documents proving that they have an endowment fund of at least 25 Crore, and land of 20 acres or more if within city limits, 100 acres or more in the outskirts.
