NEET PG or the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test is the single most entrance test to secure admissions in the MD/MS/PG Diploma courses offered by the various medical colleges of India. Any State or Institution does not conduct a separate entrance test for admission into these post-graduate courses. This entrance examination consists of:
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the entrance exam NEET PG. The candidates for this entrance examination should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Besides these eligibility criteria, foreign medical graduates or Indian citizens who have obtained their MBBS degree from the medical colleges outside India should qualify a screening test, Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by NBE before they register for NEET PG test.
Aspirants must read the NEET PG Information Bulletin available on the NBE website www.nbe.edu.in before they fill the registration form for the test. Aspirants from the General category are required to pay a registration fee of INR 3750 along with the application form. However, the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category are required to pay a registration fee of INR 2750.
The results for NEET PG 2018 would be declared on 31st January 2019. Candidates who appeared in this examination can download their scorecard from the NBE website.

If more than one candidate gets the same marks in the examination, the overall merit position will get decided by using the following tie-breaker criteria in the descending order:
For the foreign medical graduates, the scores of FMGE test will be considered to decide the merit position. If this also can’t be applied, the candidate’s date of birth will be considered. Elder candidate will get a higher merit position.
Candidates who get equal to or above the cut-off marks in NEET PG as per the NBE regulations will be eligible for the counseling sessions. When sufficient numbers of candidates in respective categories fail to secure the minimum marks in the entrance test as per the NBE regulations, the Central Government in association with the Indian Medical Council may lower the cut-off scores for admission into the post-graduate courses for the current year.
Counseling for NEET PG 2019 will be conducted in the second week of March 2019 by the various designated authorities depending upon the category of the MD/MS/PG Diploma seats. Eligible candidates can view the dates and venue of the counseling sessions on the official website of NBE.
